Saturday was Veterans' Day here in the States, and I went around and thanked all the vets I knew. From World War II to Desert Storm, I told 'em all thanks. And thanks to all you ridin' vets here. Especially with this election, it's not good to take freedom for granted.
But It's okay to post on an international forum, because November 11 is almost universally celebrated as the day the Great War, that war to end all wars ended in 1918. Armistace Day. I know they celebrat it in Britain and France, and I think Italy. maybe our European friends can educate us as to where else (Germany, Low lands?) it is celebrated. Our WWI vets are about 100 years old and the living memory of that time will soon be gone. WWII vets are approaching 80, and in the US we loose about 1000 a day. Many Korean and Vietnam Vets are in poor health, so it is worth it to spend a little time and listen to what the have to say. I'm sure it's true everywhere, the Allied nations and in Japan and in Germany, too. A precious resource will soon be lost, so take advatage of it.
